Ancestry: A Guide to Starting Your Family Tree

research tools for anyone interested in genealogy

course description

A series on genealogical research which would act as a general beginner’s guide to starting a family tree. The classes will include a brief description and identification of the types of records, recommended resources, how to begin and top tips. By the end the participant should be able to confidently identify a route for their research. Due to the nature of readily accessible records, most examples are drawn from English and Welsh records, but the research tools would apply for anyone interested in general genealogical research.
