The School of Arts and Media at The University of Salford, is one of the leading centres for practice-based education in the creative disciplines in the North West.  We offer research-informed specialist programmes which benefit from close relationships with the cultural industries. Our strength lies in interdisciplinary and collaborative international projects, many of which are focused at MediaCityUK, a world class facility on a campus dedicated to broadcasting in all its forms and in close proximity to the BBC, ITV, The Lowry and Imperial War Museum North. Our New Adelphi building on the University’s main Peel Park campus boasts a state of the art 350 seat theatre and houses the most up to date practice rooms, specialist workshops, rehearsal facilities, plus recording and photography studios.
The School’s portfolio brings together arts and humanities based disciplines with a comprehensive range of subjects organised into six Directorates, with around 4,200 students:

  • Art and Design
  • Film and Digital Media
  • Journalism, Politics and Contemporary History
  • Media and Broadcast
  • Music and Dance
  • Performance, English and Creative Writing

Our short course portfolio is currently growing to reflect all the areas we offer within the school https://www.salford.ac.uk/arts-media
